2009 Wasatch Powderkeg Lives On: March 14 at Alta

The Wasatch Powderkeg lives on! For years, Patagonia and Black Diamond were headline sponsors of the Wasatch Powderkeg, but both market conditions and product direction pushed these long-time sponsors into a supporting role, thus putting the Powderkeg in jeopardy. But with some quick planning and other sponsors, the new Wasatch Powderkeg lives on–refreshed, regrouped and re-energized.

With a new set of sponsors and a handful of course changes, the 2009 Wasatch Powderkeg–driven by a handful of local skiers–looks to continue to the tradition of randonee racing in the Wasatch. With categories for both racers dand recreationalists alike in both telemark and alpine touring disciplines, the fun atmosphere and good people should distract from the course challenges.
