It's a new year and a new twist on the X-Dance Action Sports Film Festival. The voting for the Short Film Festival kicks off today on nossaTV, as five carefully selected filmmakers and their short films will compete for the ultimate big break, a fully paid trip to Los Angeles and a full slate of meetings with the movers and shakers of the film industry.
"X-Dance is the centerpiece of actions sports filmmaking," says Constantine Papanicolaou, winner of the 2006 X-Dance Short Film Festival, who won meetings with action sports industry players and a tour of Studio 411. His meetings resulted in financial backing to film Show and Prove featuring Tanner Hall and CR Johnson.
Voting for the best video will take place from now until January 22nd. Fans can ...
Don't I feel like one of the cool kids, throwing around acronyms left and right. I'll break it down. As a recap from last Thursday night FeedTheHabit.com put together the Teton Gravity Research (TGR) and KGB Productions (some say it stands for Kitchen Goes Broke for Chris Kitchen who started KGB Productions) film showings at Brewvies as a fundraiser for the Friends of the Utah Avalanche Center who then gives the money to the Utah Avalanche Center. Holy run on sentence Batman!
No matter how you break it down the evening went well. We started things off by showing KGB's Sublimation Experiment followed by a gear raffled off from our sponsors like Black ...

The 2007-2008 combined Jeep King of the Mountain and Basecamp Music Experience kicks off at one of my favorite resorts, Telluride, December 14-16, 2007. This combined event looks to provide great festivities and competition in one of the coolest mountain towns in the Rockies. With subsequent events in Squaw Valley, CA (February 8-10, 2008) and Sun Valley, ID (March 14-16, 2007).
Each festival includes on-hill competition with IOC-sanctioned ski and snowboard cross events as well as ski and snowboard halfpipe exhibitions. The top pros will all compete for the coveted King of the Mountain series. This is the 15th year of the Jeep King of the Mountain series and will continue to be one of the premiere events of the season with amazing skier and boarder cross events....
If you've ever been to a World Cup or Olympic downhill race, you understand first-hand how extremely dangerous competitive downhill racing is. These guys and gals are hauling down the steepest slopes arcing turns at 80 mph and winning or losing by a fraction of a second. They are riding a thin line between being on the top of their game and being hauled off in a stretcher.
The legends like Kjetil André Aamodt, Franz Klammer, Lasse Kjuss, Hermann Maier, Phil Mahre, Daron Rahlves, Bode Miller and Picabo Street make it look easy to the common man, but believe me... downhill racing is as far from "easy" as it gets. These guys train methodically for years, hurl themselves down 50-degree slopes at over 90 ...

To celebrate the official launch of the Bluehouse 08 ski line, Bluehouse Skis is throwing a raging party at the University of Utah. The entertainment will be the Salt Lake City premiere of Rage Films' new ski movie, 'Enjoy'.
This year's film is the story of the chase for powder. As we are all painfully aware, the winter of 2006-2007 proved itself to be an elusive one. One where nuclear winter was followed by months of spring-like conditions. Instead of writing the whole winter off, the crew at Rage decided to be "on call" all winter. The result is a collection of the best lines of the day--from greasing rails in New York City to down days in AK. The Rage crew ...
