Hey Jonathan

I'm glad you're honing in on the RIP 9. Definitely one of the most fun bikes on the market today. The 09 model is that much better than the 08. I would say it is worth it for sure, but if you can get a great deal on the 08 model and won't be pushing it super hard, you'd be just fine with it.

You are a little larger, so you would definitely notice the increased stiffness of the 09 model, but saving some coin for better parts may be more well-served for you.

Hi Jason,
I ready for my new RIP, definitely a very good choice after riding it.
I have difficulty in deciding between the 2008 RIP in a special price offer, or to wait for the 2009 model?
I am a 6'2 XC rider mainly, not an expert. Are the improvements from 2008 to 2009 so obvious for the "non-professional" rider making it worth the extra time and money for the 2009 model?
Thanks,
Jonathan
