Niner Unleashes New Air 9 RDO

Now with all the trappings for a modern XC whip, the Niner Bikes Air 9 RDO just got significant upgrades from top-to-bottom. What was once an XC racing thoroughbred has been updated to be long/low and with geometry built to accept either a 100 or 120mm fork. Both options benefit from updated hub spacing, improved cable routing and slacker geometry all-around.

Notably, the seatpost has been reduced to the 27.2mm road standard, thus increasing comfort by adding calculated deflection. ┬áNiner’s Carbon Compaction techniques have been utilized to further clean up the frame layup — dropping 125 grams in the process.

The new dropout standards allow for single-speed or geared options out of the gate and no front derailleur mount at all — this is a dedicated 1x rig if you go geared. Hallelujah.

Availability looks like June, but CompetitiveCyclist appears to have a jump on that.
