This is a fun trail. It's fast, it has sections that will raise your adrenaline level. I've ridden Slick Rock a few times and didn't like it as much as Moab Rim, Amassa Back and Porcupine Rim. Porcupine Rim is a must ride every time I'm in Moab. Make sure you have good tires and let her rip! Scenery is excellent. Use your head, don't push beyond your comfort zone and enjoy the ride. The hardest part is riding back to town when you're done.

I need to make a trip back down there. It's just one of those things that sometimes is taken for granted because it's only a couple hours from me. Porcupine is an awesome ride... too bad you rode it sans rear brakes (ouch!). You'll be back!

We just got back from a great trip to Moab - rode Slickrock (of course) then Porcupine and finished with Bartlett Wash. Had a day of rafting in there as well. Anyway, loved Porcupine and must ride it again one day as my rear brakes failed at mile 6, forcing me to ride the final 10 miles with no rear brakes!! That was fun. We rented a house in Coyote Run which backs on to the golf course and I'd highly recommend it for those who don't mind cooking on vacation.

Great photos and a great ride. I've done it on a hard tail and loved it. I will take exception to the do it once/ not a epic ride description of Slick Rock trail. It is all that! I love the the challenges of climbing a technical trail. I have ridden Slick Rock much more than Porcupine Rim although I will probably do Porcupine Rim in a couple of weeks with my sons.
