Thanks for the update, Kelly. I was fully aware of the issues and Salomon's recall of all Quest boots with Tech fittings, but neglected to post a followup here. My bad.

There were less than a hundred pairs in the wild and most were had by media and athletes, so the recall has been pretty coordinated and small-scale. But, if you have a pair of these boots, they are to be returned to Salomon.

Looking at Lou's post (above), it really gives you the willies--especially considering the injuries sustained in the tragic accident.

The Salomon Quest is a beautiful looking boot and I truly love my XWave 10 alpine boots. However, there have been reports of tech fitting failures with this boot. Anyone interested in purchasing the Quest should read this first.

I just got a pair of the Salomon Quest Pebax Pro's in for review the rest of the season and I'm super-impressed with the quality of these boots. The walk mode is out-of-this-world flexible for a burly boot. I'm really looking forward to touring with these and getting in some frontside turns as well.

I'll see what I can find out about the overall volume of this new boot. I didn't try one on, so I don't know first-hand. Stay tuned.
