    Review: Rumpl Down Puffy Blanket

Eric MillerBy Eric MillerApril 9, 2017No Comments3 Mins Read

I don’t know if I should admit it or not but Rumpl’s marketing worked on me. I’m always thinking about adventure and getting outside. Then I see great, inspirational outdoor images with someone wrapped in a puffy blanket or looking out the bed of a truck/van. What makes adventure better? Being cozy. Enter the Rumpl Down Puffy Blanket.

Rolled up or stuffed away, the Rumpl is great to have.

    Cozy up with a Rumpl

Rumpl was born on a ski & surf trip by a couple of friends stuck with a dead car. Inspired by the performance of their sleeping bags they wanted something at home that would perform just as well and that they could even take on the road.

Rumpl makes a number of different blanket sizes, designs, and types. I went for the “trekker” size because it gives a more coverage than a throw but not as bulky as the two-person. It’s big enough to wrap completely around myself or snuggle under with the wife. Stuffed it’s about the size of a large Nalgene.

Packed size is a bit bigger than a large Nalgene.

The Down Puffy Blanket quickly became our go-to blanket at home. There’s usually a fight to see who can get it first. The kids love it and if they all sit right next to each other they can all fit underneath.

Perfect size for stretching across the backseat to warm up after a cold day skiing.

There’s a lot of versatility to the Puffy Blanket. It’s a great size to stash in the car for warming up after a cold day skiing, wrap up on chilly mornings around camp, or when hanging out in the backyard.

The 600-fill down insulation will keep you comfortable to about 40 degrees. It hasn’t been warm enough yet to take on an overnight trip but I’m looking forward to giving it a whirl when it warms up a bit more.

Super versatile. Love wrapping up in it on chilly evenings.

    The Good

    • Good construction
    • Warm & comfortable
    • Versatile

    The Bad

    • Not as packable as I would have expected for a blanket
    • Stitching snags easily

The Bottom Line: Rumpl Down Puffy Blanket

Take your blanket game up a couple of notches. Lightweight, comfortable, versatile. The Rumpl Down Puffy Blanket is a great addition to your gear closet.
