The Eagle Has Landed: SRAM 12-speed XX1 & X01 Eagle

12-speed eh? Yup… 12 speeds. SRAM has already said goodbye to the front derailleur. They have already turned all of us into 1x snobs. They have ushered in a whole new market for narrow-wide chainrings and cassette adapters to get extended-range gearing out of existing 10 and 11-speed cassettes. Now, it’s time to step up to Eagle Powers (Nachoooooooo!).

XC racers and all-day fanatics will rejoice in the wider-range gearing now offered by 12-speed SRAM XX1 and X01 Eagle. Talk about crushing anything and everything 2x on the planet — all packed into a beautiful SRAM cassette with a gear range from 10-50T.

The Eagle has landed -- SRAM XX1 Eagle 12-speed.

Yes, the foundation of XX1 and X01 remains, but to change from 11 to 12-speed required a ground-up redesign. One of the benefits of this is a refined and even better (is that possible?) chain retention thanks to X-Sync 2 Eagle chainrings. Titanium and carbon bits abound for the lightest and most capable drivetrain on the planet.

Availability looks to be June 2016. Stay tuned for a hands-on experience in the coming months.
