Niner AIR 9 RDO Limited: Lean, Green, XC Machine

Jason MitchellBy Jason MitchellFebruary 15, 20122 Comments1 Min Read

Little did we realize that when Niner Bikes embarked on the RDO path that they were dead serious. First came the drool-inducing JET 9 RDO, then a series of cockpit bits and now… well, the already-streamlined AIR 9 Carbon gets even faster and lighter with the new AIR 9 RDO. The first 50 frames will ship in March and be available with complete Limited buildkits that leave little to be desired. Retail price of the Niner AIR 9 RDO Lmited in Niner Green is $6199 with green or black framesets available thereafter for $2099.

Looking at the highlights of the new AIR 9 RDO, here’s a list of changes over the standard AIR 9 Carbon:

    • Lighter carbon layup and profiles
    • PF30 bottom bracket
    • Low-profile, “tucked in the rear triangle” post brake mount
    • Molded carbon bits everywhere
    • Optimized for geared XC racing
    • 1125 grams in weight savings

In the ever-changing landscape of mountain bikes, the Niner AIR 9 RDO ups he ante with a lightweight XC racer that still handles like a Niner.

I specifically thought of you when I was writing that up. Your bike is still SAWEET (just not as sweet as the RDO).
