Rocky Mountain and Surface Skis Launch #Pedal2Pow

Jason MitchellBy Jason MitchellNovember 11, 2014No Comments1 Min Read

After a year of toying with fatbikes in the backcountry, the crew at Surface Skis is stepping up their #Pedal2Pow project in collaboration with Rocky Mountain. Utilizing the newly-released Rocky Mountain Blizzard fatbike, the Surface crew will be searching for pow aboard low-impact fatbikes instead of 4-stroke sleds.

With a stellar combination of flotation and rideability, the new Rocky Mountain Blizzard is selling quick at local shops and will be rolling deeper into the Wasatch once the snow flies in earnest.

Mike Schneider, founder of Surface Skis has this to say:

“After an entire season of pedaling fat bikes into new ski terrain, we knew we were hooked. Not only is it a low impact way to access new terrain, it adds an entire new element of adventure to the backcountry experience. Fat Bikes bring a whole new meaning to the popular phrase, Earning Turns. For winter 2015, we are beyond stoked to announce a partnership with leading mountain bike brand, Rocky Mountain, to use their Blizzard fat bikes to push human-powered skiing to the next level.”

You can follow their chronicles of powder and fatbike fun throughout the ski season over at the Surface Web site.
