    Santa Cruz Introduces Tallboy 2

Jason MitchellBy Jason MitchellJune 7, 2013No Comments1 Min Read

It’s been a busy week for the boys down in Santa Cruz, CA. Hot on the heels of the new 125mm travel Solo 650b is the re-vamped Tallboy 2. Keeping all the goodness of the original, but now even more better (as they say). I still absolutely love the original Tallboy (read review), so the new hotness looks to be even more of what everyone loves. The improvements look to further solidify it as the most popular and capable bike in the Santa Cruz lineup.

Some highlights on the new Tallboy 2 include:

    • Dropped 0.5 lb weight — size Large tips the scales at 4.9 lbs
    • Increased stiffness for an even more responsive ride
    • Maintained the same award-winning geometry
    • Improved pedaling efficiency via new shocks and VPP optimizations
    • 142mm thru axle rear for added stiffness — pretty much the norm now (thankfully!)
    • External cable routing (easier maintenance) with stealth adjustable seatpost routing
    • Sizes Small and XXL (carbon only) now available
    • Colors: Gloss White and Matte Black

That infatuation continues as he founded this site in 1999 -- sharing his love of road biking, mountain biking, trail running and skiing. That passion is channeled into every article or gear review he writes. Utah's Wasatch Mountains are his playground.
