2008 X-Dance Action Sports Film Festival in Salt Lake City, UT

Entries are due to X-Dance on December 4th. Finalists will be announced no later than December 14th, and the online voting will run from January 4th to 21st. Users will have the opportunity to pick their favorite videos after downloading and viewing them on the X-Dance Channel on nossaTV. Videos must be watched in the nossaTV media player. The grand prize winner will be announced January 23rd along with the feature-length winners at the X-Dance closing party.

Mike Sharp, nossaTV’s new GM, has some experience getting short films into X-Dance. He founded The White Room – Wasatch Winter Film Festival in 2005, and the winner of the “Shorts” category went on to be the opening video at X-Dance 2006.

“Having been exposed to X-Dance by virtue of living in Park City, I think its time for the world to experience the action sports equivalent of the ‘Academy Awards,'” says Mike Sharp. “X-Dance will use our technology to bring this content to the action sports masses, starting with the X-Dance Short Film Festival on nossaTV. Just preview, download, then use the nossaTV player to watch the entire videos full screen. Think YouTube meets iTunes meets Quicktime,” he explains.
