Cannondale’s 2017 Bad Boy Urban Commuter

Jason MitchellBy Jason MitchellMarch 21, 2017No Comments2 Mins Read

Walking around the streets of New York City, there are cyclists everywhere. And, it’s not just the iconic Manhattan couriers darting through traffic on fixies — it’s fitness-minded businesspeople who are tired of the same old commute.

2017 Cannondale Bad Boy 1
The Bad Boy 1 features Gates Belt drive for clean, quite commuting.

Cycling through a big city requires a bit of gumption and a durable, unassuming bike. And, that’s where the new Cannondale Bad Boy lineup comes in. Pricing for the Bad Boy 1 – 4 spans from from $870 – $1840. All frames are identical with a Lefty rigid fork rolling on 650b wheels and wide, puncture-resistant tires. On the top models, the Lefty has an integrated light strip and the seatpost features integrated tail lights — all rechargeable via USB.

Cannondale Bad Boy 1
The Bad Boy’s top tube features added protection against bumps and scrapes.

The top-shelf Bad Boy 1 comes complete with some great features to make your urban life even easier, included Gates Belt Drive and an internal 8-speed Shimano hub for chain-free riding. Belt drives are super quiet and won’t muck up your pants or leave you with chainring grease marks on your calf.

That passion is channeled into every article or gear review he writes. Utah's Wasatch Mountains are his playground.
