It’s been quite a whirlwind of new bike releases this week with two road-specific brands launching cross-country mountain bikes and another launching a road/gravel one-bike-quiver. While Pinarello has made mountain bikes in the past (it’s been a long time) but this is Cervelo’s first foray into mountain biking and they launched a full-suspension bike that’s similar to their sister brand, the Santa Cruz Blur.

Pinarello Dogma XC
The legendary Italian road bike maker is going back to dirt with a full-suspension cross-country racer of their own. What’s amazing is it’s already being piloted by two of the top names in the sport: Tom Pidcock and current Olympic Champion, Pauline Ferrand-Prévot. Pinarello has some kinks to work out still before it’s available to the public in spring 2024, but look for this bike to be raced at the highest levels throughout the season.
The Dogma XC will be available in either 100/90 mm travel or 120/100 mm — depending on the course or your preferences. In our experience, 120/100 bikes are ideal for everyday riding. Pricing is still TBD, but if you have to ask, then don’t even consider it. The suspension design utilizes a flex pivot to increase stiffness and reduce weight.

Cervelo ZFS-5
Triathlon, road, gravel and now cross-country — Cervelo has come a long way in the past 20 years and only a few saw the cross-country thing coming. The new ZFS-5 will be available in either 100/100 or 120/120 mm travel variants with World Cup-worthy builds in tow. Like the Blur, the ZFS-5 uses a flex-stay design for the lightest possible chassis with the highest performance on modern XC courses.

Vitus Venon EVO-GR and EVO-RS
Versatility is king when it comes to endurance and gravel bikes. Many gravel bikes do wonders on rough terrain, but are sloppy on the road. Others shy away from anything beyond Colorado champagne gravel. The folks at Vitus have set their sights on changing that mentality with the new Venon EVO. This new bike is available in either road or gravel-flavored options. With 45mm tire clearance, there’s plenty of room for the necessary rubber on the gravel. But, with a road-oriented geometry, the Venon EVO is also built to ride like a proper road bike. Several parts specs are available in either EVO-GR or EVO-RS to suit your tastes. Either way, all you need is a separate set of wheels to hit the road or gravel, as needed.
