Instant Classic: Specialized 2019 Stumpjumper Launch Video

    0
By Jason Mitchell on April 18, 2018 Mountain Biking, News

In my mind, instant classics include Nacho Libre, Fletch, Elf and maybe, just maybe the launch video for the 2019 Specialized Stumpjumper. It’s that good. Well done, Big S for not taking yourselves too seriously while still dishing out the details on this all-new trail stomper.

The new 2019 Stumpjumper is offered in a plethora of flavors to suit your tastes:

    • Stumpjumper ST 27.5/29
    • Stumpjumper 27.5/29
    • Stumpjumper EVO 27.5/29 (details coming soon)

Specialized has a Stumpjumper for whatever purpose suits your type of riding. The ST (Short Travel) delivers 130/130mm suspension in 27.5 and 130/120mm in 29-inch flavors. Heading up to the Stumpjumper, you’ll get 150/150mm in 27.5 and 140/150mm in 29-inch models. The EVO models are still forthcoming, but should have even more travel for an enduro flare.

And, those on a budget will still appreciate the alloy version of the Stumpjumper.

Overall, the new Stumpjumper features a unique frame design called Sidearm, which is similar to the Orbea Rallon, actually. The extra frame section stiffens up the chassis — particularly around the shock mounts.

    Other key features include:

    • Clearance for 3.0 tires in both 27.5 and 29-inch versions
    • Standard shock sizes for easy aftermarket or customizations
    • Flip Chip adjustable geometry
    • Rx Tune for both men and women
    • Optimized FSR with better kinematics
    • Rider First Engineered across all sizes
    • Threaded BB (woot!)

We’ll see it first-hand at the 2018 Sea Otter Classic, so stay tuned for more photos and details.
