Fresh Wheels: Pivot Mach 4 SL Gets Both Racier & Rowdier

Jason MitchellBy Jason MitchellMay 24, 2023No Comments2 Mins Read

For the third version of the Pivot Mach 4, Chris Cocalis and team aimed for something racier and rowdier at the same time. Now available with two shock strokes, which then also offer adjustable travel, there are four flavors to choose from and a variety of options to match today’s challenging XCO courses, marathon races and your local singletrack. We see the 110/120 travel bike as the Swiss Army knife of the bike world and the V3 Mach 4 SL nails that squarely on the head.

While other brands are building XC race bikes with flex pivot rear triangles — ostensibly to shave grams and simplify the suspension design — Pivot remains dedicated to the DW-Link suspension platform. Even at shorter travel configurations, this suspension design delivers natural anti-squat while also feeling bottomless through its travel.

V3 Pivot Mach 4 SL - World Cup
Optimized for speed, the 100mm World Cup version is fast.
    V3 Pivot Mach 4 SL - XC
Optimized for fun, the 120mm XC version is versatile and fast.

The V3 Mach 4 SL will be available in two variations and prices ranging from $6,199 to $11,599:

    • World Cup: Fox Factory Float DPS Shock with 95mm or 103mm Adjustable Travel
    • XC: Fox Factory or Performance Float Shocks with 106mm or 115mm Adjustable Travel
    Mach 4 SL Travel Adjust
Flip the link to go from 106 to 115mm on the XC version.

Astoundingly, the updated frame sheds 300-417g of weight over the previous model. We can’t wait to see and ride one at some point (hopefully later this year).
