With the Opedix Knee-Tec tights, I’ve felt a little like Iron Man. But, if there’s anything that can help me run more efficiently and comfortably I’m all for it.

Turn into Iron Man with Knee-Tec tights

While I’m pretty fit, there’s no shame in looking for extra body support and “cheats” to make running more comfortable. Hey, I’m getting older and supporting the body’s natural structure is a great way to stave off injuries and allow me to run farther and longer. I’ve got a great history with Opedix products and still love the CORE-Tec Shorts.

The Knee-Tec tights are made for skiing, running or other adventures where a full-length tight is not desired. I’ve been using these as running tights on cool trail runs. Compared to the full-length tights, these 3/4-length models offer less warmth, so I’ve worn them on all but the coldest adventures.

Pulling these on requires a little bit of a shimmy as the tights get into position. Pulling the tights into position over the knees, the uppers are then pulled up and into place. It takes a bit of tugging on the power bands to get everything situated. Something that has been a bit of a concern has been that during these final shimmy sessions, the seams have popped quite noticeably. No tears have presented themselves and this may be natural stretching, but it is a little unnerving to have happen still.

I’ve worn these both with and without briefs underneath. My recommendation is to run them with briefs because the crotch isn’t as supportive as I’d like — and it adds a little touch of warmth and privacy when going with briefs.

Head-to-head comparison runs with and without the tights, there’s no question the benefits they provide. The added support feels natural and delivers a noticeable boost with a reduction in fatigue and muscle soreness.

• Seams still pop when pulling on (though no rips or tears have appeared)

The Bottom Line

There’s no way around it, the Opedix Knee-Tec tights provide noticeable improvement in muscle support. They also reduce fatigue while running and cut post-run soreness.
