Let me get this out there right off the bat… the Patagonia Capilene Cool Daily Hoodie lives up to its name as something you’ll want to wear every, single, day. It’s great for lounging, work, play and especially for traveling.

Hoody on the daily (or travel)
Around Utah, I’ve gotten plenty of uses with the Daily Hoody, but its greatest attributes have shone through when used for travel. A Caribbean cruise served as a test bed for this hoodie and let’s just say I wore it a lot. With muted styling, it looked sharp enough to wear with a pair of khaki pants while also looking quite at home with a pair of swim trunks as well.
On breezy evenings, the Daily Hoody takes the edge off and during the heat of the day, the full coverage and hood provides excellent sun protection. This is great to either prevent exposure or cover already-burned skin. Either way, the Capilene Cool fabric feels comfortable and smooth on my skin.
Shore excursions did get the Daily Hoody wet and it always dried in a jiffy. Something that’s great for travel is that even after repeated use, it still smells fresh. A good trail run or two will require a washing, but you can wear it awhile without washing with regular use.
When worn under a backpack, the fabric holds up nicely without any pilling. Matched up with the Patagonia Terrebonne Joggers, the combination makes for a killer travel outfit to stay warm on a chilly airplane ride while breathing well walking around hot/humid areas like Miami, Florida.
With nearly all Patagonia items, I’m a medium top/bottom. The Everyday Hoodie fits nicely overall, but I would have appreciated an inch longer sleeves and hem for a touch more coverage. The large might have been too generous in the body since that fits me just fine.
The hood is great for added coverage on the water or warmth. Plus, it looks cool. However, it can become a little cumbersome when worn with a vest or jacket with a traditional collar.
Note on fit: I’m 5’11” and 175 lbs and went with the size medium. Color is Smolder Blue.
