The Big Bambooski is a mid-fat symmetrical twin tip, and is designed to allow you to gracefully float on powder or carve smooth turns on hardpack. The turned up tail makes this nimble ski feel equally at home navigating big-mountain steeps and trees or stomping a trick switch off a backcountry kicker.
“The Big Bambooski will really help round out our ski line,” said Mike Kilchenstein, President and C.E.Snow of RAMP Sports. “The flat tails featured in some of our other models can make for a more aggressive ski, but the twin tip in the Big Bambooski provides a super easy, carefree ski that everyone will love.”

More American than… Voile, Praxis, DPS, Moment, Slant (also bamboo), ON3P, etc etc etc.? How do you figure?
Looks like I most certainly overstepped that statement by ignoring the many other US-made skis. Some that should have come to mind (Voile, DPS) and others that are simply off the radar in such a crowded market.
I know intimately many of the folks at Bluehouse, Surface, Salomon, K2 and full US-based manufacturing is difficult, if not impossible while still eeking out reasonable profit margins. I am curious if all these niche players have the backing to stay in the market long-term. Anyway, kind of an aside.
Truth is yes, there are others who are just as American, so I stand corrected. Thanks for keeping me on my toes.
