This winter, Salomon is re-launching their Quest line as a full all-mountain kit from outerwear to boots and skis. This line is built to perform on the frontside, backside and in the backcountry. I had a quick few laps in the all-new Quest Motion Fit Jacket and wanted to share some quick thoughts.

The Quest for a Few Laps at Alta
Skiing with the Salomon media crew, I was lucky enough to give the all-new Salomon Quest Motion Fit Jacket a try on a few laps at Alta Ski Area. While I was there to primarily get some on-snow time with the new Salomon Q-115 and Q-105 skis and Guardian touring bindings, I was treated to a sneak preview of the all-new Quest Motion Fit Jacket.
At the top of Supreme Lift, I swapped jackets and ripped a few laps with the Quest Motion Fit. When Salomon talks about Motion Fit, take notice. Until putting on this jacket, I hadn’t thought about how other jackets DIDN’T fit while in ski mode. Most jackets are made to fit you standing still, but Motion Fit technology puts this jacket into ski mode for a cohesive fit and feel on the slopes.
I was impressed with the fit and finish of the jacket and most of all, the in-motion feel. I can’t say much more than that as the limited test time was well, limited. Look for this jacket now in retail stores and give it a whirl… you’ll instantly notice the benefits of Motion Fit. Range-of-motion is fantastic and coverage is perfect.
The Bottom Line
Might be marketing hype, but the new Quest Motion Fit Jacket really fits well while skiing. It’s a well-designed all-mountain jacket that can integrate with the matching pants for a cohesive experience on the hill. Try it on and you’ll instantly feel the difference.
