The crew at Transition Bikes has always marched to the beat of a different drummer. Their rider-owned philosophy just oozes out of every bike they make. I had the priviledge of meeting co-owner, Kevin Menard, several years ago at Interbike. His low-key style won me over and their first-generation Covert didn’t take long either.
Now, nearly 5 years later just take a look at what Transition Bikes has to offer: Freeride, all-mountain, DH, slopestyle, hardtail, 29er and everything inbetween.. And, for 2013, add a quiver-killing Carbon Covert to that mix.
The Covert Carbon looks to compete head-on with the Ibis Mojo HD in many aspects (even down to the yellow dayglo). Pricing and availability details are still up-in-the-air at this time, but it will be carbon, it will feature 160mm travel and it will be jam-packed with awesomeness. Nice work, fellas!

I love the style of the bike. I am looking for all in one mountain bike and just added this to my list of options. I am not extremely knowledgeable about mountain bike specs, but the rear and front suspension seem to have a lot of travel. Does that take away from its performance for uphill endurance riding? Thanks for the post!
Because it will still be light and responsive, 160mm should remain very climb-able. I’m comparing it to the Ibis Mojo HD, which is not the fastest climber of the bunch, but is surprisingly fun and capable on the up. When you point it down, that’s when the smiles come out in full-force. Expect the Carbon Covert to be similar.
