Great bibs for all-day comfort
With a 60 mile ride ahead of me, I sorted through my bibs and settled in on the Craft Glow bib shorts. They had proven themselves on many shorter rides of 20-30 miles, so now was the chance to put them through a longer test. In the end, I would not be disappointed as these bibs are always up to the challenge.
Like all Craft cycling apparel, the Glow bib shorts are well-crafted and made for discerning cyclists. As an evolutionary improvement on previous designs (EB Tech Bib, , these bibs have a handful of updates that make up the overall package.
For starters, let’s talk about the name of the bibs. “Glow” refers to the wraparound reflectivity printed onto the leg cuffs. Speaking of cuffs, these are wide and stay put quite well without gaping or rolling back. While I’ve got plenty of reflective gear and lights that I wear during early morning rides, the more the merrier, so bring it on.
The multi-panel design of these bibs is fantastic. I don’t have monster thighs and many folks have wondered how my chicken legs can climb so well, but that’s besides the point. What can happen due to my physique is the legs can be less supportive than intended. That doesn’t seem to be the case here as my muscles feel comfortable, supported and relaxed — even on longer rides.
I will say that the bib straps are still lacking. The mesh material is softer and tighter-knit that previous designs, but they still act like cheese graters (albeit, less aggressive) on my bare chest. Chaffing is never fun. I found myself wearing a base layer underneath these bibs just to eliminate the discomfort.
The multi-density chamois is a crowd-pleaser. It has a large sweet spot and maintains a high level of comfort — even as the miles tick by. I’ve worn these bibs on a variety of saddles for both mountain and road biking with much success.

These are the finest Craft bibs I’ve tested. The multi-panel design contours well with my body and delivers excellent muscle support and compression. Just keep in mind that a base layer is advised to eliminate chaffing from the scratchy shoulder straps.
