Scott is finally in the disc brake game with cyclocross. As one of the late-comers, they are insistent that the intent was to do things right — not do them quickly. So, the Addict CX 10 comes fashionably late, but is a fantastic bike that’s arrived just in time for your next 60 minutes of blood, sweat and tears.

Addict CX is fun everywhere
Granted, I didn’t ride this in an all-out CX assault, but I sure had a fun time riding it on pavement, gravel and singletrack — which is often the way cyclocross courses go around here anyway. Since Scott was very late to the disc party, calling the Addict CX long-awaited is the understatement of the year. But, for ‘cross racers, this one is going to be sweet.
While it shares the same name as the Addict road bike, it is an entirely unique bike with a laser-focus on cyclocross racing. Looking at the geometry, the Addict CX has a larger BB drop (68mm) than some racy frames, but the angles are all spot-on with the best CX frames in the business.
As is typical of Scott, they spent considerable amount of time making the frame as light, stiff and compliant as possible. The result is a frame/fork that’s the lightest in the industry and even beats a myriad of pure road bikes. With the complete spec, the Addict CX leaves nothing on the table — coming with a full SRAM Force 1 kit and the new Syncros RP1.0 carbon disc wheels (the DT Swiss hoops were just for ScottWeek).
Heading out on a CX bike, all routes were fair game, so I started on singletrack and quickly found a solid groove. Things got a little technical, so no problem, I hopped onto a gravel road and started climbing my way up the slopes of Deer Valley. This bike flies uphill and the comfort is outstanding.
After flying back down the same gravel road, I went for a road lap and continued to enjoy the ride. It is efficient and smooth on the road and remains confident at speed. After the road lap, I ducked back into some primo singletrack and loved every bit of it. This bike is a hoot — no matter where you take it.

Heading into CX season, there are a myriad of options on the table, but the Addict CX 10 comes in as a lightweight rocket ship with the moves to back it up. This is one sexy CX machine and was all kinds of fun on the trails.
