Both road and CX bikes are in the middle of technological limbo. Disc brakes or rim brakes? Thru axles or standard QR’s? The conundrum continues on, but Norco’s roots in North Shore “freeride” firmly puts them into the “disc brakes and thru axles” camp — even for cyclocross and perhaps even on the road (we’ll see). For 2015, Norco went for a complete re-design on their Threshold CX bike.
The goal was to make a North Shore-friendly CX bike that can handle the wet, muddy and sloppy conditions found in British Columbia and on cyclocross courses worldwide. Talk about a thing of beauty… the new Threshold is one smart looker (the red is even better, IMO).
While the full-carbon model will get all the attention, the same features trickle down to the aluminum models with a wide array of pricing and parts kits.
