Felt Bicycles has always been an engineer-driven brand with a penchant for optimizing to the nth-degree. That optimization started in triathlon and road, but has naturally extended into their full lineup over the years — particularly as the FRD program has expanded. Their latest creation is the all-new Decree — a trailbike built around 27.5″ wheels, 150mm (front)/140mm (rear) travel and adjustable geometry.
Felt’s XC-oriented bikes (Edict) have long used their FAST suspension technology. This system eliminates the rear pivot and instead relies on the natural material flex throughout the suspension travel. By going this route with the all-new Decree, the rear end is stiffer and the swingarm is actually built at the optimal sag point for maximum pedaling efficiency. As a result, this bike is lighter (24.6 lbs) and more capable.
Why don’t we just let the engineers at Felt and their athletes guide us through the details in the following video.
