Niner Bikes: New WFO, One 9 RDO and Air 9 Carbon

Jason MitchellBy Jason MitchellAugust 28, 2013No Comments2 Mins Read

It’s tradeshow season, so that means a slew of new product releases. As if Niner Bikes hasn’t been busy enough this year, they are announcing three entirely-new models at this week’s Eurobike Tradeshow.

    Air 9 Carbon

Borrowing heavily from the knowledge gained in the development of the latest RDO models, the Air 9 Carbon comes in swinging for the XC racing fences with a host of refinements that will make racers smile all the way to the podium.

    2014 Niner Air 9 Carbon

    Air 9 Carbon Highlights:

    • Classic Niner hardtail geometry
    • PF30 bottom bracket
    • New tubing profiles and carbon lay-up
    • Built around 80-100mm tapered fork
    • Low-profile post mounted disk brake inside rear triangle
    • Added heel and tire clearance
    • 135mm QR rear spacing
    • 5-year C5 warranty
    • Colors: Hi Ho Silver and Niner Orange

    WFO 9

The big-hitting enduro racing machine goes airformed and drops 0.7 lbs from its chassis. This bike was spotted at the Enduro World Series last month and is hitting its stride at just the right time as long-travel 29ers are gaining serious momentum — particularly in the enduro racing circles.

    2014 Niner WFO 9

    WFO 9 Feature Highlights:

    • Airformed tubing for a stronger, lighter chassis
    • 150mm of CVA Suspension
    • Built around 150-170mm forks
    • Tuned RockShox Monarch Plus RC3
    • ISCG 05 tabs
    • Forged suspension linkage and unique hardware
    • 142mm x 12 rear axle
    • Post-mounted rear brake
    • Colors: Atomic Blue and Niner Red

    One 9

The singlespeed category is alive and well, thanks to the afficionados at Niner. But, the new One 9 is also an excellent steed for SRAM’s new XX1 or X01 1×11 drivetrain.

    2014 Niner One 9 RDO

    One 9 Feature Highlights:

    • Tube profiles and lay-up to optimize ride quality and reduced weight
    • Built around 80-100mm forks
    • Biocentric II for singlespeed setup
    • Post-mounted disc brake
    • 142mm x 12 rear axle
    • Color: Atomic Blue
