I’ve come to appreciate Ergon’s focus on rider comfort and their GE1 grips have long been a favorite. Now, with the factory custom rubber, there’s even more to love. For starters, the single clamp makes for easy install and security. I appreciate the use of a large, 4mm hex bolt as well, instead of the weak, tiny ones you’ll find with other grips. I don’t mess around with my safety and I’m glad Ergon feels the same way. With the grips secure, let’s ride.

Love the comfort and control when angulating at high speeds.

It doesn’t take long to realize how comfortable the GE1 Factory Evo grips are. I love the soft, grippy rubber and have found it to provide excellent bike feel under all conditions and with all gloves. Rolling fast through sweeping corners and performing quick movements are always comfortable and precise. I appreciate the flared ends of the GE1’s that both keep your hands centered and add comfort/control benefits.

Something else you’ll notice is the finger tab that adds another dose of control as you’re navigating that next rock garden. Durability is great so far and the large clamp has stayed in place since day one. The Factory rubber is a little more tactile and soft compared to the standard GE1 material.

    The Good

    • Soft, grippy rubber
    • Clamp is easy-to-use and stays secure
    • Built-in endcap

    The Bad

    • Can’t think of any

The Bottom Line: Ergon GE1 Factory Evo

It’s easy to recommend these grips for all types of riding. I’m no DH/Enduro rider and I flat-out love the comfort, control and performance of the GE1’s. I don’t get any numbness and I feel like I have ultimate command over my bike.
