Cannondale’s CAAD aluminum frames have long been regarded as the benchmark. With pinpoint shaping, this alloy frame has remained one of the finest non-carbon bikes available. And, heading into 2020, the all-new CAAD13 takes on a heavy influence from the all-new Cannondale SuperSix EVO and not only features added comfort, but aerodynamics as well.
While the new SuperSix EVO represents all that’s great about today’s carbon fiber road bikes, the CAAD13 unequivocally states that you don’t need expensive carbon fiber to enjoy all that the new SuperSix EVO has to offer. Geometry is identical and you’d be hard-pressed to differentiate the two from a distance.
For the 2020 CAAD13, Cannondale focused on drag reduction, comfort and added capability — all without increasing the weight of the bike. Alloy construction methods continue to improve and this one shows. Their new KNØT components are on display here with the 27 KNØT seatpost, cockpit and wheels aboard the top-shelf $5600 CAAD13 Force eTap AXS model.
I’ll add that Cannondale has finally gotten their aesthetics together and nailed it with the 2020 CAAD13 (along with all other 2020 models). The CAAD13 will be available in 3 disc brake models ($2100-$5750) and 2 rim brake models ($1800-$2400) as well as a disc and rim model for women in 44, 48, 51 and 54cm.
