Merrell’s product lineup sure has evolved over the past couple of years. On the heels of their much-heralded clothing line, the footwear selection, style and function has also stepped into the forefront. By offering more products to meet the needs of loyal customers, Merrell as further solidified their brand.
For 2009, the clothing line adds even more style with some of the pieces sporting truly unique queues and touches that make them truly stand out in a crowd. I got a quick preview of many pieces in the clothing line and a couple of new trail running shoes that will be coming out this year.
Merrell Conductor Reversible Jacket
Filled with Primaloft insulation, the Conductor is lightweight, compressible and warm. And, it’s reversible to boot. I really liked the low-proflle sleve cuffs that will make this jacket better-suited as a midlayer as needed. With 110 grams of insulation in the body and 60 grams in the sleeves, this jacket will keep you warm without feeling bulky as outerwear or a midlayer. Available Fall 2009.
Merrell Carbon Shell
Weighing in at a mere 6.8 oz, this Gore-Tex Paclite shell is quite and functional without weighing you down. With the ability to stash this jacket nearly anywhere, the Merrell Carbon Shell will provide wind and water protection on highly-aerobic adventures with pit zips to keep things cool. The hardshell fabric is quiet and soft to the touch without the crunchy hardshell feel. Available Spring 2009 with an MSRP of $228.
Merrell ST Stature 2
An update from the current ST Stature trail runner, the Fall 2009 release will feature new styling, but maintain some of the most popular features, like the gaiter-style bootie, medial support, aggressive tread and G3-PHASE cushioning. MSRP will be $125 this Fall.
